Experienced Equipment
by TheEnderCore
Experienced Equipment gates armor behind a player level, so chainmail and gold pieces can only be worn once a set threshold is reached.
What it does
The mod assigns level requirements to armor and equipment, so a player must reach a given level before wearing a piece. Requirements are set through a list of item level mappings. The default setup adds requirements for the Chainmail and Gold tiers at levels 5, 15, 30 and 45. Tooltips can be toggled on or off, and their color can be changed.
Experienced Equipment is released under the MIT License as open source and targets Forge for Minecraft 1.20 – 1.20.4, with five release versions covered. Both the server and every player need it, and it requires Fzzy Config and Kotlin for Forge. The latest Forge file is 1.1.0 for 1.20.4, published 2025-07-30. Source code and an issue tracker are public.

Who it’s for: Server owners and modpack authors who want armor to follow a player's level. Players on a server that runs the mod need it installed as well.
