Expanded Spear Enchantings

by LuisterCorp

Expanded Spear Enchantings lets a single spear carry several weapon enchantments at once, from a datapack-driven expansion enchanting table.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer required, client optionalAll rights reserved1.21.11 – 26.2

What it does

The mod adds an expansion enchanting table that works alongside the vanilla enchanting table. Through the datapack it expands the set of weapon enchantments a spear can receive, covering Fire Aspect, Knockback, Looting, Impaling, Density, Breach, Wind and Wind Burst. A spear may hold more than one of them at a time, mixing enchantment families as the datapack allows.

The server is the side that needs the mod. Players can join without installing it, but the server must run it for the expanded table and spear enchantments to work. Install it by unzipping the file as the instructions require, then place it with the other datapacks. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 5 release versions, 1.21.11 – 26.2, with 1.2.1+mod for 26.2 as the latest file, and it is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Expansion enchanting table

A separate enchanting table adds spear enchantments beyond those in vanilla, so the choices are not limited to the standard set.

  2. Mixed weapon enchantments

Several enchantment families can be stacked on one spear instead of being restricted to a single type.

  3. Datapack-driven expansion

The expanded weapon enchantments come from a datapack, so the list can be adjusted by the server or world without recompiling the mod.

  4. Spear enchantment set

Fire Aspect, Knockback, Looting, Impaling, Density, Breach, Wind and Wind Burst can all be applied to a spear.

How it compares

Full comparison

Breach + Density is a Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt mod for 1.21 – 26.3 that is server required and client optional, released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. Expanded Axe Enchanting is Fabric only for 1.16.5 – 26.2, server-side only, and open source under the Apache License 2.0, so it targets axes rather than spears.
