lodestonebeam

by hwdgaf

Lodestone Beam is a client-side mod that draws a beam to lodestones, compasses and other held targets so players can spot them from a distance.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltClient-side onlyCustom license26.2 – 26.3

What it does

Held lodestone compasses are shown as beams in the world, labeled with the target's name, its distance in blocks, and whether it lies in the same dimension. Players can track several compasses at once, and a carried compass list gathers them into one searchable view that can be sorted by type and filtered.

The mod also covers arrival behavior and locator teleport icons. Arrival options control a title overlay, a message, a sound, and changed arrival handling, grouped under Extras. Locator bar tracking for compasses with beams, Ender Pearl and Lodestone icons, and teleport or spawn points are shown where cheats allow. The custom license means the code is not open source. Snapshot builds are published, and files target 26.2 – 26.3 on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt.

Key features

  1. Beam tracking

A beam rises over each tracked lodestone or compass target, labeled with its name and distance in blocks.

  2. Carried compass list

All carried compasses appear in one searchable list, with filter, sort and type options opened by a key.

  3. Favorites

Favorite entries sort first, and hiding a color removes its beam while keeping the compass's own color.

  4. Arrival options

On arrival the mod can show a title overlay, send a message, play a sound, or change behavior, configured under Extras.

Use cases

Finding a base

A player with several lodestone compasses can see where each points and how far away it is, without opening every compass.

Long-distance navigation

Beams stay visible from far away, so a lodestone can be located much like a waypoint marker across a large map.

Who it’s for: Players on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt who carry several lodestone compasses and want their targets listed and visible in the world. The mod is client-side only, so servers do not need it.
