eXc Compose
by eXcPassi
eXc Compose is a Fabric library for building declarative user interfaces, where screens are described as component trees that the layout engine measures and positions.
What it does
Mod developers describe a screen as a tree of components, and the layout engine handles measuring, positioning, input focus and tooltips. Layout containers cover fixed content, fill and expand sizing, Flow, Grid, Stack and ScrollContainer, with clipping, smooth scrolling, draggable windows that keep their positions, and collapsible sections.
The library also ships a set of widgets: label, button, checkbox, slider, a full-featured text box with selection, clipboard and word navigation, dropdown, color picker and item texture display. Widgets can be self-rendered and themed, and animations use easing curves and tweens. A config system annotated on a class can generate a JSON file and a matching settings screen, and screens can be written as XML UI models with hot-reload while designing.
The library is for Fabric mods on Minecraft 26.2. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Files are published for Fabric only, 1.0.0 for 26.2, under the MIT License; the project is not open source.
Key features
Declarative screen trees
Screens are built from component trees, and the layout engine handles measuring, positioning and input focus.
Scrolling and draggable windows
ScrollContainer adds clipping and smooth scrolling, and windows can be dragged and keep their positions.
Full set of widgets
Buttons, checkboxes, sliders, dropdowns, color pickers and a text box with selection and clipboard support.
Generated settings screens
Config values annotated on a class produce a JSON file and a settings screen with checkboxes, sliders and tooltips.
Network channels
Channels send records with automatic serialization, so mods do not write their own packet encoding.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Fabric mod developers who want to build configuration screens, tool windows or other interfaces for Minecraft 26.2 without writing layout code by hand.
