Ergonomic Craftable Enchants

by SP2G50000

Ergonomic Craftable Enchants makes enchanted books craftable at a crafting table, so players can reach most enchantments without trading with villagers.

What it does

Enchantment recipes are built around villager trades: a player collects Lapis Lazuli, which adds the matching recipes to the recipe book, and then crafts the enchanted book from common materials. The aim is to let a world progress through the game without depending on villager trades, which the author describes as a design decision for balance. Emeralds and villager-heavy items are still part of several recipes, so villagers remain required for some steps.

The mod also gives more use to parts of Minecraft that are rarely used, such as Sniffers, Armadillos and Amethyst Shards, by making them ingredients in enchanting recipes. Mace-related enchantments are the only ones that are craftable at the table, and the author notes that this is intentional because the Mace is rare and difficult to obtain. The mod does not require looking up recipes outside the game.

Key features

  1. Craftable enchanted books

Balanced enchanted books can be crafted at a crafting table once the required material has been collected.

  2. Recipes triggered by Lapis Lazuli

Collecting Lapis Lazuli adds the matching recipes to the recipe book automatically.

  3. Rare-material ingredients

Sniffers, Armadillos and Amethyst Shards are used as ingredients, giving those drops a purpose.

  4. Mace enchantments

Enchantments tied to the Mace are the only ones made craftable, matching the item's rarity.

Use cases

Progressing without villagers

A player who wants to avoid repeated trading with villagers can craft most enchantments from materials found in the world.

Who it’s for: Players who prefer to gather materials and craft enchantments rather than trade for them, and server owners who want a progression path that does not rely on villager trading.

What the author says

Mace-related enchantments are the only enchantments that are not craftable. This is an intentional design decision due to the Mace's rarity and difficulty to obtain.
