Eravern's more animal products
by Eravern
Eravern's more animal products adds raw and cooked meat and other food items dropped by animals that have no food drops in vanilla Minecraft, including horses, wolves, axolotls, frogs and striders.
What it does
Most animals in vanilla Minecraft drop no meat, but this mod gives many of them a raw and a cooked food item. Each drop feeds a different amount, so a player can choose what to eat depending on how hungry they are. Horses, donkeys and mules drop horse meat, which fills a little more than beef. Wolves, foxes, polar bears and pandas drop carnivore meat, a food meant mostly for emergencies. Axolotls and squids drop items that players are unlikely to rely on, while frogs drop legs that sit just below chicken.
Striders drop shanks that are cold when raw and hot when cooked, and they can only be cooked in a smoker or a blast furnace, since a strider does not burn in lava. Armadillos, turtles and dolphins drop wild meat, a decent early-game source of food. Bees drop a cooked bee item, and goats, camels, ocelots and sniffers add vanilla-style drops such as mutton and leather. The mod runs on Fabric and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, and it needs to be installed on the client and the server. It is released under the MIT License, and its source code is public.
