Enchantment Enhancements

by ISenseHostility

Enchantment Enhancements, a Forge mod for 1.19.4 and earlier, adds eight new enchantments and six new curses that the vanilla enchantment table can produce.

What it does

Players get new enchantments and curses but no new items, so the mod works through the gear players already carry. Curses are applied to books, which makes the curse route a safer way to obtain enchantments. Effects include freezing or paralysing a target for a short time, enhancing speed after being attacked, reflecting part of incoming damage, and harvesting crops in a 3x3 area.

Curses change how items and the world behave: items can last forever when dropped, mined blocks can turn to gold, and targets can be struck invisible for a while. The mod is published for Forge across four game versions, 1.16.5 – 1.19.4, and runs on client and server. Both the server and every player need it, and the code is not open source.

Key features

  1. Eight new enchantments

Enchantments include Magic Protection, which lowers damage taken from magic sources, and Explosive Tip, which makes arrows explode on contact.

  2. Six new curses

Curses such as Rusting, Detonation, Midas, Fading and Ignition each carry a distinct effect, from slow durability loss to ignition of both user and attacker.

  3. Freezing and paralysis

Some enchantments temporarily freeze or paralyse the target, giving the holder a short window to act.

  4. Bonus drops and skulls

Certain effects raise the chance of extra drops from hit mobs and of skull drops on death.
