Dynamical Compass

Dynamical Compass lets players set a custom position that a compass then points toward, and it still works after the destination is locked.

What it does

A compass can be given a custom position, and the compass needle then points to that spot. Once a destination is locked, it cannot be changed again, so the choice is final. A compass without a locked destination still behaves as an ordinary compass.

Dynamical Compass requires Recipes Library and is published for Forge and NeoForge across 25 release versions, 1.17.1 – 26.3. The server and every player need the mod installed. The code is not open source; the mod is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Custom compass target

    A compass can be pointed at a custom position chosen by the player, instead of the default spawn point.

  2. Locked destinations

    Once a destination is locked, the compass cannot be reset to another position, which keeps the target fixed.

  3. Plain compass fallback

    A compass with no locked destination still works as a standard compass, so nothing is lost when the mod is installed.
