Dynamic Lights
by o-Peepo
With Dynamic Lights installed, torches, glowstone, glowberries and lanterns give off light while held in the player's hand.
What it does
Blazes, glow squids and other listed mobs keep a glow permanently, and dropped luminous items shine on the ground. The light is produced on the server and can be seen by every other player, so players can move through caves without placing torches along the way.
The mod is distributed as a data pack for Minecraft saves and as a Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt mod. The server must run it, while players may add it for the same light on their own clients. Builds cover 1.17 – 26.3, with the latest file for 26.3 released on 2026-09-17. The code is not open source and is covered by All rights reserved.
Settings can be changed with /function dt:config, and removal uses /function dt:uninstall. Liquid flow such as lava and water may be obstructed, a side effect of the Minecraft limitations the author notes.
Key features
