Dyes
by Manchick
Dyes fills gaps in the crafting recipes for dyes that vanilla Minecraft leaves out, through a small datapack that adds recipes and tags.
What it does
The datapack adds dye recipes that the base game is missing. Mixing dyes together gives new colors, as it does in real life, and a few recipes that were absent are added so that dye crafting covers the remaining combinations. Concrete, concrete powder and other materials can also be crafted from mixed dyes.
Only a limited set of recipes and tags is included, so the change stays close to vanilla behavior. Installation runs on Fabric, Forge and Quilt, with the same 1.0+mod file released for 1.20.1 – 1.20.4. The server requires the mod, and a client may leave it out. Dyes is released under the MIT License and is not open source.

Use cases
Decorative builds
Builders who want colors the base game does not offer can craft them from dyes they already have.
Survival progression
Players who mix dyes early can make the materials they need without trading for them.
Who it’s for: Survival and creative players who build with dyed blocks, and server owners who want the missing dye recipes on their world without adding a large mod.
How it compares
Logical Dye Mixing is a Fabric, Forge and Quilt option for 1.16 – 1.20.1 that is server required and client optional, released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only. More Dye Crafts covers Fabric and NeoForge for 1.14 – 26.2 and is server-side only, under All rights reserved. Dyes differs by targeting only 1.20.1 – 1.20.4 and by being a datapack with a small set of recipes.

What the author says
Minecraft dyes can sometimes be pretty controversial. While they are definitely challenging items to get your hands on, they are also used purely for decoration. Meanwhile, in real life, you can mix dyes together to get new ones. See, Minecraft already adds plenty of such recipes, but a few are still missing - that's…
