Botanical Pots

by Manchick

Botanical Pots lets players grow trees, flowers and fungi in pots, with plants dropping resources once they are fully grown.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer required, client optionalMIT LicenseOpen source1.21 – 26.3

What it does

Planting a seed inside a pot starts the growth process, and a grown plant drops its matching resources. Pots can be fed by a container placed below them, and a hopper beside a pot can take the drops away, which automates tree collection and flower or fungus farming. A jukebox placed near a pot speeds up growth, and upgrades can be applied to a pot, though each upgrade can be applied only once.

The server needs the mod, and players may add it for the client-side features. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with 3.1.2+mod for 26.3 as the latest file. Botanical Pots is open source under the MIT License and has public source code and an issue tracker.

Key features

  1. Automated tree collection

Pots grow trees on their own, so the wood comes out without manual planting or harvesting each time.

  2. Magnifying Glass research tool

A built-in tool shows the details of each plant, and the data pack version provides one after install.

  3. Five plant classes

Plants fall into five classes, called Modifiers, that set growth rate, resource amounts and drops, and how a plant reacts to richer soil.

  4. Jukebox growth boost

A jukebox placed near a pot raises the plant's growth rate.

  5. Pot upgrades

Upgrades slightly alter parts of the growth cycle, and each one can be applied only once per pot.

Use cases

Automated farms

A container below a pot collects drops, and a hopper beside it empties the pot, so a row of pots runs with little attention.

Who it’s for: Players who want less manual work for wood, flowers and fungi, and server owners who want plant growth that runs without constant tending.

Questions

Does Botanical Pots need to be installed on the client?

No. It is server required and client optional, so the server must run it while players may add it for the client-side features.

Can Botanical Pots be automated?

Yes. A container placed below a pot takes drops, and a hopper beside the pot removes items, so no manual collection is needed.

Which loaders does Botanical Pots support?

Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with files for the game versions listed on its page. A data pack version is also available for servers.
