Dormant Sigil adds a custom item that lets a player revive friends who have died in Hardcore multiplayer.
What it does
A Dormant Sigil is a custom item added by the mod. Using it on a player who has died in Hardcore mode brings that player back into the game, which suits servers where permadeath feels too permanent. The item is recipe-based and uses vanilla materials, so the new item introduces new uses for items players already collect.
The mod is a server mod: the server needs it, while players may leave it out and join without installing anything. Its data pack can also be dropped into a world's datapacks folder, so single-world setups can use the feature without a mod loader. Hardcore SMPs that want a way to forgive a death can use the Sigil as a fair recipe-driven option.
Builds are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. Six release versions are available, 1.21.5 – 1.21.10, with 1.1+mod for 1.21.10 as the latest file on every loader. The code is released under All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.
