DisplayDelightJS
by nhjr
DisplayDelightJS lets KubeJS scripts register placeable food blocks for Display Delight, a NeoForge library for displaying food on plates and in stacks.
What it does
Registering a placeable food takes three steps in a KubeJS script: an abbreviation for the mod id, a food block built with a custom BlockBuilder, and a food item tagged as placeable. The author describes this split as a technical requirement of the registration process. A full custom BlockBuilder reference is listed on the project wiki, and most of its methods work with the custom builder, except loot tables, since Display Delight uses hardcoded loot.
Food that stacks uses maxDisplayStack to set the maximum count, and its block model assets follow a numbered suffix pattern up to that maximum. Non-stackable food uses a regular placement model. The demo registers several items from the Fruits Delight example, showing both kinds of food in use.
The mod requires Display Delight and KubeJS, and it runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Files are published for NeoForge 1.21.1 only, with 1.0 as the latest file, and the code is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, so it is open source.
Key features
Placeable food blocks
Scripts register food as placeable blocks, so foods can be set down and displayed in the world.
Stackable and single foods
Stackable foods use a maximum display stack value, while non-stackable foods place a single model.
Custom BlockBuilder
A custom block builder supplies the block properties, with most methods working as intended.
Plate model handling
The plate can be hidden by setting noModelModify, which lets a script build the plate model block manually.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.

Use cases
Food decoration packs
Pack authors can add displayable foods to Display Delight through KubeJS scripts without writing Java code.
Example foods
The demo shows two working food displays and can serve as a starting template for new registrations.
Who it’s for: Modpack authors and script writers who already use KubeJS and Display Delight and want to add their own placeable foods.

What the author says
Display Delight looks great. However, you might want to have some mods other than its support list in your modpack, so I've introduced the ability to register more placable foods with KubeJS. This mod is dedicated for modpacks, feel free to use it anywhere. For non-stackable food block, the model assets are in their…
