Dirt Tools and Armour
by creamers inc
Dirt Tools and Armour adds dirt-based tools and a basic armour set to Forge and NeoForge, crafted much like the vanilla tools and armour.
What it does
Dirt is the starting material here. Players craft a dirt tool set and a dirt armour set using the same recipe pattern as vanilla tools and armour, so the items fit into the usual progression as an early option. The armour is described by its author as weak but enough to get a job done, with five armour points across the full set: 1 for the helmet, 2 for the chestplate, 1 for the leggings and 1 for the boots.
The mod also adds coarse dirt, rooted dirt and grass blocks as decorative and crafting materials. The server and every player need the mod installed. Builds exist for Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and the code is released under All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.

Use cases

Who it’s for: Players who want a simple starter equipment option, and server owners who want a light dirt-themed progression addition for Forge or NeoForge worlds.
How it compares
Dirt Armour is a Forge-only mod for 1.19.4 with its own dirt armour, and it is not open source. Dirt Items is an MIT-licensed Forge mod for 1.20.1 that is not open source either. Emerald Equips covers both Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 but focuses on emerald gear rather than dirt.
