debug-helper
debug-helper is a server-side Fabric and Quilt library that other mods use for logging, tracing and debugging utilities.
What it does
The library prints debug messages to the server console and tracks event triggers, so a developer can follow how code runs during development. Its logging, tracing and debugging helpers are meant to be called from other mods rather than used directly by players.
Only the server needs debug-helper, and clients join without installing it. Fabric API is required, and Quilted Fabric API or Quilt Standard Libraries is required on Quilt. The Apache License 2.0 covers the code, which is not open source. Builds target 1.20.1 – 1.21.8 on Fabric and Quilt, and the library itself is required by tweak-api.
Key features
Console debug messages
Debug messages are written to the server console, which keeps output visible while the server runs.
Event trigger tracking
Event triggers are recorded as they fire, so a developer can see which events occurred and in what order.
Code flow monitoring
Monitoring helps a developer trace the flow of a mod's code while it is being built and tested.
Simple logging utilities
Plain logging and tracing helpers can be called from other mods without extra setup beyond the dependencies.
Compatibility

Use cases
Mod development
A Fabric mod author can add debug-helper as a dependency to log messages and track triggers while testing.
Server debugging
Server owners running a mod that depends on debug-helper can read its output in the server console.
Who it’s for: Mod developers building Fabric or Quilt mods who want a logging and tracing library, and server owners who need its console output while diagnosing a mod that uses it.
How it compares
Triggers is also server-side only and open source under the MIT License, with files for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, so it covers more loaders than debug-helper. Sparkweave Engine is a Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt mod that can run on a client or a server, and it is published for 1.20.1 – 26.1.2 under All rights reserved.
