Dealmaker

by TheCrazy_Kitty

Dealmaker gives players magic items, cursed dice and ritual artifacts that trade risk for power, and it requires Curios API.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 26.1.2

What it does

Dealmaker adds tools and weapons built around effects: a firework rocket combined with a fire charge becomes a Demon Firework that launches the player along the look direction and negates fall damage on cooldown. A rabbit's foot combined with a slime ball produces a Monstrous Rabbit's Foot that launches the player into the air. Items like these are crafted from pairings of vanilla materials, and a few combinations yield cursed items instead.

The cursed side centers on a Fate Dice, made from a dice and dragon's breath, which can be thrown. Hitting an enemy applies a random effect for a random duration, such as Night Vision, Mining Fatigue or Effect Duration. The die can be used only a chosen number of times before a randomly timed cooldown, after which a random number of uses is restored. A Life Swap Melon, made from a glistering melon and chorus fruit, lets its holder trade health with a target of matching maximum health.

Installing the mod requires Curios API on Forge and NeoForge. Installation covers the server and each player's game. Files exist for 1.20.1 and for the 1.21.8 – 26.1.2 builds, with the latest Forge file being 0.5 for 1.20.1 in the alpha channel and the latest NeoForge file being 0.1 for 26.1.2 in the beta channel. The mod is not open source and is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Launch and shove items

Some items launch the player or shove an entity away in the direction the player is looking, and some launch more horizontally or vertically.

  2. Cursed dice

Players can throw a Cursed Dice, which applies a random effect with a random duration to the first enemy it hits.

  3. Ritual Shrine crafting

A Ritual Shrine lets players combine items into artifact-style items drawn from other-worldly spirits.

  4. Health swapping

The Life Swap Melon exchanges the player's health with a target entity of matching maximum health.
