Customizable Elevators

An elevator is assembled from blocks the builder chooses, and the mod moves entities inside the cabin, or standing above and below it, between the stops that have been set. Doors can be fitted to each floor and to the cabin, and rope, support texts, buttons and signs can be used around the shaft. A container block holds the configuration tools, and a display shows the current speed set for the cabin.

The speed is set in ticks between movements, with a formula that converts that delay into blocks per second, and the setter accepts exact values within certain ranges. Stops are chosen by right-clicking a block, a stop can be removed in a separate action, and the cabin doors close on a timer if nothing holds them open. Players who build the cabin and the shaft should check the stop setup before a first ride.

Customizable Elevators needs MIDWUT, which must be installed alongside it on Fabric, NeoForge or Quilt. The mod is server required with the client optional, so the server must run it while players may leave it out. It is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial No Derivatives 4.0 license and is not open source. Files cover 1.21.6 – 1.21.11, with 1.0.0+mod for 1.21.11 as the latest build, and a data pack form is available for server platforms.
