Custom Areas
by F0CUS
Custom Areas lets server administrators protect zones in the world, with rules set through menus rather than commands, and is a server-side Fabric mod for 1.21.1.
What it does
Administrators create protected zones with a selection wand from the Custom Areas menu, defining each zone with two clicks. Each area can be renamed, teleported to, edited or deleted from the graphical interface. While a selection is made, a particle outline shows the exact boundary being protected before the zone is saved.
Rules are set per area with a flag system. World flags cover block breaking, block placing, TNT detonation and fire spread. Player flags cover PvP, invincibility, hunger drain, interactions and chest access. Each flag has an icon, and enabled flags show an enchantment glint, so the state of a zone can be read at a glance. The mod suits spawn protection, PvP arenas, VIP zones and areas with functional commands.
The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing anything. It requires Fabric API, GooeyLibs and LuckPerms. The latest Fabric file is 3.0.0 for 1.21.1, published 2025-10-03 on the beta channel, and the code is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved.
