MyTotem

by Wild_Ginseng

MyTotem lets players replace the Totem of Undying texture with an image they choose, applied automatically through a generated resource pack.

FabricClient-side onlyAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 26.2

What it does

Players can pick any image file and apply it as the texture of the Totem of Undying. The mod builds the resource pack needed for the change, so players do not have to edit textures or assemble a pack by hand. Image files can be added from inside the game, saved images can be selected again later, and images no longer wanted can be deleted from the list.

The displayed name of the totem can also be changed, and the settings sit on a simple configuration screen. The change is visual only: the totem keeps its vanilla behavior and effects, so gameplay is unaffected. The mod runs on Fabric and requires Fabric API, with Mod Menu optional for opening its settings. It is client-side only, so servers and other players need nothing installed, and it is published for 1.20.1 – 26.2 across four release versions, under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Custom totem image

Any image file can be set as the look of the Totem of Undying, replacing the vanilla texture on the client.

  2. Automatic resource pack

A resource pack based on the selected image is generated and applied, so no manual texture editing is needed.

  3. In-game image import

Image files can be added while the game is running, and saved images can be chosen from the list at any time.

  4. Image and name management

Registered images can be deleted, and the name shown for the totem can be changed to match the chosen image.

Use cases

A personal totem look

A player who wants a custom Totem of Undying can set a chosen picture without building a resource pack by hand.

Visual changes only

Because only the appearance changes on the client, the totem keeps its vanilla effects in any world.

Who it’s for: Players who want a custom look for the Totem of Undying in single-player or on servers, since only the client needs the mod. Players who want changed gameplay effects will not find them here.

Questions

Does MyTotem require Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is a required dependency and must be installed next to MyTotem on Fabric.

Do servers need MyTotem installed?

No. It is installed on the player's side alone, so servers need nothing.

Does MyTotem change how the totem works?

No. The mod alters only how the Totem of Undying looks on the client, and its gameplay effects stay as they are.

What the author says

MyTotem is a client-side Fabric mod that lets you customize the Totem of Undying with your own image. Instead of manually creating a resource pack, MyTotem automatically generates and applies one from the image you choose in-game.
