Cursed Gear
by Benj1kus
Cursed Gear adds armor sets and tools for Forge on 1.20.1, each with its own drawback, from brittle glass gear to a cactus chestplate that doubles incoming damage.
What it does
The mod adds several armor sets and tools that follow vanilla patterns but change how they play. Glass armor and glass tools are fragile: once struck, the armor loses its protective properties, and the glass sword always deals critical damage and applies Bleeding, which adds one damage per second to a mob or player. Milk armor is unpleasant to wear, since it slows movement and should be kept out of the rain, yet it lets the wearer fill buckets with milk without being able to drink it. Cows, goats, cats and ocelots will follow the wearer and try to drink from them.
Other pieces cover mixed effects. Cheese armor has no crafting recipe; players earn it by remaining in direct sunlight for roughly 20 seconds while equipped with Milk Armor, and occasionally a cheese piece splits off, letting mice emerge as companions that are fond of cheese. The Cactus Chestplate doubles damage taken while worn, even when the wearer is not attacking. The Ice Helmet gives a Brain Freeze effect, and the Ice Boots slowly slide the wearer across the ground.
Cursed Gear runs on client and server, so the server and every player need the mod. Files are published for Forge on 1.20.1, with 1.0.0 as the latest file from 2026-03-30, and the mod is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

Emerald armor - if the player is wearing this armor, all nearby villagers will remove it from you Emerald tools - if you strike a villager with any emerald tool, they will not take damage and will offer you discounts and grant a discount effect for other villagers, and will occasionally make sounds of pleasure…
