Sulfur Depths
by Benj1kus
Sulfur Depths adds a sulfur-themed underground biome called Boiling Caves, along with new blocks, a sulfur slime mob and a set of hazardous materials.
What it does
The Boiling Caves biome generates beneath the surface and spawns sulfur lakes at the bottom. Several block types appear in it, including Cinnabar Sulfur, which can be smelted on a campfire into a more orange, more durable heated variant. Light-emitting blocks and an Amethyst block that rings when struck are also part of the set.
The mod introduces a sulfur slime with its own mechanics: it can be pushed toward mobs or players, and the damage it deals depends on the item used to strike it, including enchantments. Anvil Obsidian makes an object heavy so that a fast fall deals damage like an anvil. Magma blocks ignite nearby entities, and cactus blocks hurt everything around them. Emerald blocks lure villagers and gold blocks lure piglins.
Sulfur Depths is published for Forge and NeoForge across 3 release versions, 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, and runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. The code is not open source, and the mod is released under All rights reserved. Pointed Dripstone and wool types round out the block set.
