Cube's Crosshairs

by XtraCube

Cube's Crosshairs replaces the default crosshair with a customizable one that reports attack cooldown, block breaking progress and targeted entities.

FabricClient-side onlyCC0 1.0 UniversalOpen source1.20 – 1.21

What it does

The crosshair changes shape and color based on what the player is looking at: it turns red over an entity that can be attacked, and it shows how far the attack cooldown has recovered and how much of a block has been broken. Options for these behaviors are set through a command line, and the settings can be saved to a configuration file so they persist between sessions.

Because the mod is client-side only, players install it on their own game and servers do not need it. Cube's Crosshairs is published for Fabric alone, for 1.20 – 1.21 across 8 release versions, and requires Fabric API. Its files are released under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, which places the code in the public domain and makes it open source.

Key features

  1. Attack cooldown indicator

The crosshair fills or changes as the attack cooldown recovers, so players can time their strikes.

  2. Entity targeting color

The crosshair turns red when it is aimed at an entity, making the target clear to confirm at a glance.

  3. Block breaking progress

The crosshair shows how far a block has been broken while the player mines it.

  4. Command line options

Crosshair appearance and behavior are adjusted with commands, and the settings can be written to a saved configuration.
