Crystallized Beacons
by PrincParshia
Crystallized Beacons changes the beacon block so that End Crystals placed near it turn the beam into a weapon that burns through nearby mobs.
What it does
The mod makes beacons more useful in combat. Beacon levels increase reach, and a level 1 beacon covers 16 blocks, with each new level doubling the range. End Crystals placed beside a beacon change its beam into a defensive attack, so a beacon can protect a base from flying enemies, underground monsters and other hostile mobs instead of only providing status effects.
Higher-tier beacons, such as those built with diamond, are strong enough to help defeat bosses like the Warden and the Wither. The mod is intended as part strategy and part spectacle, and players who want to grind certain materials more efficiently may find the stronger beacons useful. Crystallized Beacons is a server-side only mod for Fabric, published for 1.21 – 26.2 across 15 release versions. The license is All rights reserved, so the code is not open source, although public source code links exist.
Key features
Reach scaling by level
Each beacon level extends its reach, starting at 16 blocks for level 1 and doubling with every new level.
End Crystal beam weapon
Placing End Crystals next to a beacon turns its beam into a weapon that burns through hostile mobs.
Defensive beacon towers
Beacon towers can fight back against flying enemies and monsters underground, so a base is no longer passive.
Boss-capable high tiers
High-tier beacons, such as diamond ones, help players defeat bosses like the Warden and the Wither.
Beacon control mechanics
A set of control mechanics governs how beacons are powered, aimed and maintained with End Crystals.
