CropXp
by uema5a
With CropXp installed, a fully grown crop on a server can award experience orbs when a player harvests it, based on rules set in data packs.
What it does
CropXp grants experience when a player harvests a mature crop, with a configurable chance of dropping a few experience orbs. The amount and chance can be set for each crop, so a server can tune how much farming pays out. Its settings screen opens through Mod Menu and Cloth Config, and the mod runs on a server alone, so players join without installing anything.
Crops are defined in data pack files placed in a fixed folder inside the world's datapacks directory. A reload applies edits, and the Recognized Crops tab of the config screen lists everything loaded. Each rule checks a state property of the block itself, for example age 0 to 7 on wheat, 0 to 3 on nether wart, or whether a double plant is its lower or upper half, and a crop that does not match the listed condition yields no experience. The same pattern works for modded crops that expose a growth property.
The mod requires Fabric API and is released under the MIT License, though it is not open source. Cloth Config API, LevelZ and Mod Menu are optional. With LevelZ present, CropXp can grant LevelZ farming experience instead of vanilla experience. Files are published for 1.19.2, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1.
Key features
Harvest experience
A mature crop can drop experience orbs when harvested, with a chance set in the configuration.
Data pack crop rules
Crops, amounts and conditions are added or removed with data pack files, so modpacks and servers can shape them.
Custom experience overrides
Mature carrots and fully grown nether wart can be given custom experience, overriding vanilla or LevelZ values.
Excluded blocks
Melon, pumpkin and torchflower blocks are excluded so they cannot be farmed for unlimited experience.
