Crimson Steve's Mutant Mobs
by stevered404
Crimson Steve's Mutant Mobs replaces familiar mobs with mutated versions that fight with martial arts moves instead of bows, and each mutant spawns near its original form.
What it does
The mod's mutant skeleton, Stunt Skeleton, attacks with a set of linked moves: a punch, a smash that leaps and strikes the ground, an uppercut that launches targets high into the air, a leap in a random direction for evasion, and a kick that knocks targets back. Several moves can be chained, and the spacing after a kick is set so that a follow-up smash can reach the target.
Hopkeleton and Withered Hopkeleton have mutated legs that prevent walking, so they hop instead and use a body slam, rising on their arms before rushing forward at the top of the jump. The wither variant drops coal and wither skulls, and its slam also applies the wither effect. The mod also includes golems and spawns naturally where skeletons are found.
The mod has a required dependency that must be installed alongside it. Kilt is optional and recommended for Fabric users. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need the mod. Its releases cover 1.19.2 – 1.21.1, and the latest file is 1.1.2 for 1.20.1, a beta build from 2025-08-12. The code is not open source, and the source code and issue tracker are public.
Key features
Stunt Skeleton attacks
Punch, smash, uppercut, leap and kick can be linked together, so a fight follows a chosen sequence of moves.
Hopping undead
Hopkeleton and Withered Hopkeleton move by hopping and perform a body slam when they reach their target.
Wither variant rewards
The withered hopkeleton drops coal and wither skulls, and its slam inflicts the wither effect.
Natural spawning
Mutant mobs appear near the original form they replace, and Stunt Skeleton spawns where skeletons are present.

How it compares
Mutants and Zombies is available for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.12.2 – 26.3, with client and server environment and an All rights reserved license. Lot's-a-Steves! is a NeoForge-only mod for 1.21.1 that runs on the server alone, so players need nothing installed. Mutationcraft covers Forge and NeoForge for 1.18.2 – 1.21.1 with client and server environment, and is not open source.

This mod adds mutant mobs in my style! Mobs in this mod will spawn nearby their original form usually. Below, there are list of mobs and explanations of them. Requires Geckolib!\ ㄴ New beta builds don't require any other apis, but fabric users should use kilt api for running
