Creatures Expanded adds a set of new hostile mobs to Minecraft Java Edition, including tougher zombie variants that drop unusual loot.

What it does

Gnasheart, Anguished and mutated zombies are the main additions. Gnashearts stand at 25 health and strike for 4 damage, and defeating one drops tooth fragments used in crafting the Shadowfang Dagger. Prosperisher, a miner from long ago found in deep caves, wields a stone pickaxe and can make a player bleed over time.

Installation needs Forge and Geckolib, which is a required dependency. Installation covers the server and each player's game. Files cover 1.18.2, 1.19.2, 1.19.4 and 1.20.1, with 3.2.1 for 1.20.1 as the latest file. Builds for 1.19.4 and 1.18.2 are no longer updated, and the 1.19.2 line ends at its last backport, v4.0.0. The author suggests pairing the mod with other hostile mob packs for a harder night.

    Zombies with a mouth-like opening in the chest, filled with teeth, carrying 25 health and 4 attack damage.

    Long-forgotten miners found in deep caves that inflict bleeding, and drop items mined long ago.

  3. Anguished zombies

    Variant zombies from the coldest biomes that apply Frostbite, slowly freezing a player to death.

  4. Mutated zombie

    A rare, strong zombie with 60 health that can slam the ground and damage nearby monsters.
