Create: Utils
by Palm3
Create: Utils adds Create-style redstone and building blocks, including a transmitter girder, an invisible glass block, a wrench-rotatable observer and a lamp for emergency lighting.
What it does
The mod adds blocks meant to extend what Create players can build. A transmitter girder can be linked to other transmitter girders, so a linked girder switches off when its partner loses power. An invisible glass block is crafted from a single glass pane and stays see-through in builds. Crafted with one torch and two iron plates, the lamp suits emergency lighting, and its position can be set by screwdriver to the top, center or bottom of walls, or to the center or side of ceilings.
The smarter observer comes in a Basic mode and an Advanced mode. Basic mode emits a one-tick signal when a selected block is detected. Advanced mode adds a Minecraft Mode switch, and with it the block can react to a block being placed or removed, holding its signal for a set duration. With Minecraft Mode off, it behaves more like Create's own observer; with it on, the block mimics the vanilla observer, which also works with pistons. A block to detect is selected by right-clicking it with a filter, and without a filter the observer will not work. A wrench rotates and breaks it.
The mod requires Create and Create: Design n' Decor, and both must be installed on the same side as Create: Utils. It is published for Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and the environment is client and server. The license is Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.0, so the mod is not open source.
Key features
Transmitter girders
Transmitter girders can be linked to one another, so a linked girder turns off when the girder it is linked to loses power.
Invisible glass block
A transparent block made from a single glass pane, useful in builds where a visible wall should not be seen.
Smarter observer
A Create-style observer with a Basic mode for a one-tick pulse and an Advanced mode that reacts to placement and removal.
Minecraft Mode switch
A switch on the Advanced observer makes it behave like the vanilla observer, with output timed to the selected amount of ticks.
Emergency lamp
A lamp crafted from one torch and two iron plates, available in three types that can be used in a stonecutter, with placement set by screwdriver and wrench.

How it compares
Ranged Wireless Redstone is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, with files for 1.20 – 26.3 and the environment client and server; it covers wireless signals rather than observer and girder blocks. Extended Comparators is open source under the Apache License 2.0, runs on Fabric and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, and adds comparator variants instead.
