Create: No Unlimited Energy
by plagness
Create: No Unlimited Energy turns Create's water and wind power into an engineering problem, letting players build dams and windmills that make energy only from real flow and gusts.
What it does
Water wheels in this mod run only on real current, and their output scales with flow strength. A dam with many working wheels clustered together pays off more than the sum of its parts, so a single wheel parked in a puddle produces little. Closed pump-to-wheel loops are kept from becoming a perpetual motion source, since generating consumes some water intake.
Wind power follows the weather. A windmill's rotor speed tracks live gusts and the day and night cycle, so stable water flow is the dependable backbone while wind is variable and swingy. The mod depends on Create Fabric and Flowing Fluids, and CC: Tweaked is optional for automation. Either side can run it, and neither needs it, and it is open source under the MIT License, released for 1.20.1 only.
Key features
Real water flow
Water wheels respond to actual current, so a dam must be built to make useful power.
Dam coherence multiplier
Clustered wheels in one dam gain output, and the goggle readout shows the multiplier for a 9-wheel dam.
Live wind
Windmill rotors follow gusts and the day and night cycle instead of a fixed output.
ComputerCraft telemetry
Peripherals expose live readings from wheels and windmills, for dashboards and monitors driven by CC: Tweaked.

Use cases
Hydroelectric dam
Players can arrange wheels across a flowing river or a dammed channel and watch output rise as more wheels cluster.
Wind farm logic
Windmills can be grouped and monitored so that wind variation is tracked and balanced against steadier sources.
Who it’s for: Players who use Create for power and want generation to depend on real engineering, and server owners who automate their plants with ComputerCraft.
How it compares
Create: Goggles Show RPM works on either side, and neither needs it, and it is open source under the Apache License 2.0, with files for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.20.1 – 1.21.1. CCCCC needs a client and server install under the MIT License for the same version range, and Re:Plethora is also open source under the MIT License but only published for Fabric, across 1.20 – 1.21.1.

What the author says
Make power in Create something you engineer, not something you plop down. NUE ties Create's kinetics to genuinely flowing water (Flowing Fluids) and a touch of ComputerCraft, turning energy generation into a real engineering problem: build a hydroelectric dam, a wind farm, and the logic that runs them — instead of a…
