Create: No Track Map

by RedZone451

Players running a Create railway server can hide train track locations from the map overlay with the Create: No Track Map mod, which turns off the overlay's track data.

NeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.1

What it does

The mod is built for anarchy servers where train tracks give base locations away to other players. It needs Create to be installed, and the code is written against Create version 6.0.10. Once the mod is on both sides, the server checks the client config and refuses to send track map data to any player whose client has the overlay still switched on.

The overlay is controlled by the Show Train Map OverLay option, which sits in the Create config. Setting it to false in that file blocks the track data for that client. A player who joins with the option still enabled, or who asks for track map data anyway, is disconnected by the server. The mod works with Xaero's Journey map as well, since the trouble it addresses comes from the same track overlay.

Files exist for NeoForge only, for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source, and its source code is published. Installation covers the server and each player's game. The first and latest file, 1.0.0, was published on 2026-07-13 on the alpha channel.

Key features

  1. Track map blocking

The server refuses to send track map data to clients that keep the train map overlay enabled.

  2. Client config check

The mod reads the client config and checks that the Show Train Map OverLay option is set to false.

  3. Kick on blocked join

A player who joins with the overlay still on is disconnected, so the track data stays hidden.

  4. Overlay request refusal

A client that requests track map data while the overlay is enabled is kicked from the server.

Contraptionable Rails is a server-side only option for NeoForge 1.21.1 under the MIT License, and it is open source. Create: No Track Map is client and server, so it has to be installed on both sides. Create: Train Perspective Fix covers Fabric, Forge and NeoForge files for 1.18.2 – 1.20.1, under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and it is open source. Its scope is the client view of trains rather than the server blocking of the overlay.

Questions

Does Create: No Track Map need Create installed?

Yes. Create is a required dependency, and the mod's code is written against Create version 6.0.10.

Does the server need the mod, or only the players?

Servers that run it need every player to install it too.

Where is the Show Train Map OverLay option?

It is located in the Create config. Setting Show Train Map OverLay to false turns the overlay off.

What the author says

This mod was made for a somewhat anarchy server so having train tracks just give your base location away on Xaero's or Journey map is problem. The mod checks the client config for one specific config to make sure that it is turned off. If a player tries to join with that config on they will be blocked. If a player…
