Craftable Capes ReForge
by MayaGuomang
Craftable Capes ReForge lets players craft capes they can wear, including official Mojang and Minecraft Dungeons capes, through a Curios API cape slot.
What it does
The mod is a modified version of Ryhon0's cape mod, originally created as a Fabric mod, and it is ported to Forge and NeoForge. Over 90 capes can be crafted and worn, among them official Mojang capes from the Minecon 2011 to 2016 events, Translator and Migrator capes, and capes from Minecraft Dungeons. Each cape is rendered on the player model through the vanilla cape layer, so the texture appears where it normally would.
Cape textures are handled in two ways. Online capes load their textures from Mojang's texture servers and keep a local cache, while offline capes use static textures bundled with the mod. Wearing a cape requires the Curios API, which provides the cape slot. The NeoForge port of 1.21.11 was adapted by MayaGuomang for that integration.
Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. The code is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only. Files are published for 1.18.2, 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 1.21.11 and 26.1.2, with the latest Forge file for 1.20.1 and the latest NeoForge file for 1.21.11.
Key features
Over 90 craftable capes
Capes from Mojang, Minecon events and Minecraft Dungeons can be crafted and then worn by the player.
Cape slot through Curios
Worn capes sit in a Curios cape slot, so they do not take the place of armor or other equipment.
Two texture sources
Online capes fetch textures from Mojang's servers with local caching, while offline capes use bundled static textures.
Random creative tab icon
The creative tab displays a random cape as its icon, so the tab changes between sessions.

Who it’s for: Players who want to wear Mojang and Minecon capes in survival or creative worlds, and server owners who run Curios on a Forge or NeoForge server.
How it compares
CapeLib is a Forge and NeoForge library for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, licensed under the MIT License, and it is not open source; it works on either side, and neither needs it. Cape Command is a Fabric and NeoForge mod for 1.20.4 – 26.3 under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, which is open source; the server requires it while clients may leave it out. Banner Capes is a NeoForge-only client and server mod for 1.21.1 – 26.1.2 under the MIT License, which is open source.
