Controlify (Controller support)
by isxander
Controlify lets players run Minecraft Java Edition from a game controller, with vibration, gyroscope aiming and button glyphs matched to the controller in use.
What it does
Controlify is installed on the player's side and needs Fabric API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) alongside it, on both Fabric and NeoForge. Mod Menu is optional and adds a settings entry for the mod. Only the client needs the mod; a server may run without it. Builds are published for 25 release versions, 1.19.4 – 26.3, with snapshot builds also available. The latest files are 3.5.3+mc26.3 for 26.3, dated 2026-09-23.
Controller input is read through the SDL3 library, which lets the mod cover many devices. Vibration can be set per event, such as taking damage or breaking a block, and the intensity of each source can be adjusted. Gyroscope input supports fine aiming. Controlify also reads extra buttons on some controllers, including paddles and touchpads, and it works with PlayStation controllers without extra software on desktop operating systems. The license is GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, and the source code, issue tracker and wiki are public.
Key features
Controller vibration
Vibration fires for game events such as damage, block breaking and lightning, with separate intensity settings for each source.
Gyroscope aiming
The controller's gyroscope can be used for precise movement in game, and it can be combined with flick stick aiming.
Button glyphs by model
Button icons are chosen for a range of controller models, and resource packs can replace them or add niche controller identifiers.
On-screen keyboard
A built-in on-screen keyboard allows text entry with a controller, so no physical keyboard is needed.
Radial menu
Less-used actions can be bound to a configurable radial menu, which frees up buttons for common commands.
