Connected adds connected textures to Minecraft for Fabric and NeoForge, so blocks such as glass and bricks join up with their neighbors instead of repeating a single tile.
What it does
Connected textures change how a block's sides look based on the blocks next to it, so a row of glass panes or bricks reads as one surface. The author built the mod as a lighter alternative to Optifine-style connected textures, which can break other parts of the game. It is intended to work with Sodium and Iris, and the author reports testing it with the Whimscape resource pack.
Connected is client-side only, so players install it alone and servers do not need it. It is published for Fabric and NeoForge, with files for 1.21.1 released on 2026-09-02, and it is not open source. The license is All rights reserved. The author says a reporting feature is planned for the near future, and no issue tracker is set up yet.

Continuity is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only and covers Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt from 1.17.1 onward, which is a wider loader and version range than Connected. Dynamic Glass is also client-side only but is Fabric-only for 1.21.11 and later, and its license is All rights reserved and not open source, the same as Connected.

What the author says
A connected textures mod. Multi-loader alternative for Optifine/Continuity style connected textures. For now I just want to get it out, use it for the new pack, and see if other people also like to use a thing that probably works. Works for me in testing at least and I'm pretty thorough.
