Colorful Water

by Korin

With Colorful Water installed, the water in the world can take custom colors chosen in the options screen.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source26.1.2 – 26.2

What it does

The mod lets players set a custom color for water, so the surface of every water block in the world shows the chosen tint. It is a client-side mod, so only the player's own game needs it and a server can run without it. The color is picked from RGB values, with each channel ranging from 0 to 255.

Colorful Water includes a Bedrock Water resource pack built in, which can be selected from the Resource Packs list in the options menu. Once the pack is enabled, the water takes the look of the Bedrock Edition water. Files are published for Fabric only, for the game versions 26.1.2 and 26.2, with 1.3.1 for 26.2 as the latest file. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the source code and issue tracker are public.

Key features

  1. Custom water color

Water blocks can be given any color chosen through red, green and blue values between 0 and 255.

  2. Bundled Bedrock Water pack

A Bedrock-style water resource pack ships inside the mod and can be enabled from the game's own menus.

  3. Options menu access

The color and the resource pack are both set from the game's options screen, under the Resource Packs entry.

  4. Screenshot example

The author text includes a screenshot of the bundled Bedrock Water pack applied in a game world.

Use cases

Changing a single-player world

A player who wants clearer or differently tinted lakes and oceans in one world can set the color without touching the world files.

Who it’s for: Players who want a different water appearance on their own client. Because the mod is client-side only, server owners do not need to install it for their players to use it.
