Colored Obsidian lets players craft obsidian and crying obsidian in dye colors, so nether portals can be built from colored blocks.

What it does

Players craft colored variants by surrounding a dye with obsidian or crying obsidian. The variants cover both the regular and the crying form, and they can be combined in one portal frame. Crying obsidian in these colors can be used to create nether portals, which is the main gameplay effect of the mod. Fabric API is required, and the server needs the mod; players join without installing it. Builds cover 1.20.1 – 1.20.4, released under All rights reserved.

The mod has a single purpose: colored obsidian and crying obsidian variants for decoration and portal building. It does not change other blocks, worldgen or recipes beyond these additions, so a world without the crafts is unaffected.

    Obsidian is craftable in several dye colors, made by placing a dye around the obsidian in a crafting grid.

    Crying obsidian also comes in dye colors, using the same dye-and-block recipe pattern.
