Collect Items

by Plastoid501

Collect Items is a Fabric utility that automatically collects selected items for the player, with hotkeys for its config screen and for storing items with NBT.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.19.3 – 1.21.11

What it does

Selected item types are gathered automatically as the player moves through the world, so the player does not need to pick each one up by hand. Which items count as selected is chosen in the mod's configuration, and a hotkey opens the config GUI while it is pressed with the selected keys.

A separate hotkey stores the item in the player's hand with its NBT data, letting the stored entry be used later. Collect Items runs on the client only, so only the player who installs it needs the mod, and servers can run without it. The code is open source under the MIT License, and files are published for Fabric across 21 release versions, 1.19.3 – 1.21.11, with 1.0.0 for 1.21.11 as the latest file. Fabric API is not listed as a dependency for this mod.

Key features

  1. Automatic item collection

Selected items are picked up automatically, without the player walking over each stack.

  2. Item selection in config

The player chooses which items are collected through the mod's configuration.

  3. Config GUI hotkey

A key combination opens the mod's configuration screen while the chosen keys are held.

  4. NBT store hotkey

A key combination stores the held item together with its NBT data.

Use cases

Gathering drops

A player farming or mining can have chosen materials collected as they go, instead of stopping to pick them up.

Keeping tagged items

Items with custom NBT data, such as enchanted or named gear, can be saved with a single hotkey press.

Who it’s for: Solo players who want less manual pickup in survival or creative play. The mod is client-side, so it suits single-player and multiplayer clients alike, and server owners do not need to install it.

What the author says

This mod will automatically collect selected items. It is useful for collecting the same items. This mod also does NBT comparisons, so you can collect items that have the same tag (etc. enchantment) as the selected item. At startup, config/collect-items/list.nbt is generated and the selected items are stored there.
