Code Defined GUI

by klikli-dev

Code Defined GUI is a NeoForge library that lets other mods define their interface screens in code rather than in image files.

NeoForgeMIT LicenseOpen source26.1.2 – 26.3

What it does

Other mods can build their GUI layouts directly in code with this library, so a developer does not need a full layout image editor to create one. Layouts can be changed at runtime, which lets a modder swap between several hand-made background images without rebuilding the screen. The library is published for NeoForge only, for 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3, with 26.3 as the latest file.

Key features

  1. Code-defined screens

Mods describe their GUI layout in code, which removes the need for a separate layout image editor.

  2. Runtime layout changes

Screen layouts can be altered while the game runs, without reloading or rebuilding the interface.

  3. Background image swapping

A mod can switch between several hand-made background images on the same defined layout.
