Cobblemon Spawn Chaining
by tmetcalfe89
Cobblemon Spawn Chaining makes a Pokémon that a player has just knocked out or captured raise the odds that the same species or form appears again near that player.
What it does
Each time a player defeats or catches a Pokémon, a chance is rolled for the same species and form to spawn next to that player. The chance is affected by the player's Cobblemon Counter statistics, which are read through Cobblemon Counter, so the chain depends on how the player's counts stand. Chains can be turned off per player's play, and the chain can optionally notify the player when it succeeds.
The mod needs Cobblemon, Cobblemon Counter and Cobblemon Tim Core to run. The server must run it, while clients may leave it out. Fabric and NeoForge files exist for 1.21.1, with the latest build 1.8.1 released on 2026-09-14 and open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Chained spawns
A successful capture or defeat increases the chance that the same species or form spawns next to the player.
Counter-based chance
The chance is tied to the player's Cobblemon Counter statistics, so the chain reflects the player's own progress.
Success notifications
An optional message tells the player when a chained spawn has happened.
Blacklist and whitelist
Filters let server owners exclude Pokémon from chaining or allow only chosen ones.
Level variation
Spawned Pokémon have their level adjusted slightly at random, kept within a reasonable range.
Configurable spawn override
A test or admin setting can force a chosen Pokémon such as Aurorus to be the next spawn, for checking the feature.
Compatibility

Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners who run Cobblemon and want spawns to follow the player's captures and defeats, and players on such servers who want to see how the chain is tuned.
How it compares
Cobblemon Size Variations is needed on the server, with the client optional; it is open source under the MIT License and published for 1.21.1 on Fabric and NeoForge, so it changes Pokémon sizes rather than spawn chances. Cobblemon - Let Me Spawn runs only on the server, so players join without installing it; it is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 and also for 1.21.1 on both loaders. Cobblemon Poke Fusion needs both the server and every player, and it is not open source, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.0.

What the author says
…you could chain spawns... in Cobblemon? In order to test the mod, simply load it up, give yourself a Master Ball, spawn a Aurorus with /pokespawn aurorus, catch the Aurorus, and give it a second to override the next spawned Pokémon.
