Cobblemon PokéPing

by DerKommentator

Cobblemon PokéPing sends a notification in Minecraft chat when a chosen Pokémon spawns nearby the player, and it can also post to a Discord webhook.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Players pick specific Pokémon they want to be alerted about, and the mod posts a message in the game chat when one of them appears close by. Notifications work in singleplayer and on a server, and a Discord webhook can forward the same messages to a channel outside the game. The settings live in a config file that can be edited through Mod Menu, and each notification type can be switched off without restarting Minecraft.

The mod needs Cobblemon, Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin to run. Mod Menu is optional and only adds an in-game screen for the config. PokéPing is client-side only, so servers do not need it, and it is released under the MIT License as open source. Files exist for Fabric and cover 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, with 1.1.0 for 1.21.1 as the latest build.

Key features

  1. Spawn alerts for chosen Pokémon

Only the species the player selects trigger a chat message, so common spawns do not flood the chat.

  2. Discord webhook output

Spawn messages can also be sent to a Discord webhook, letting a player follow hunts from another device.

  3. Live config toggles

Individual notifications can be disabled through the config without restarting the game.

  4. English and German text

Notification messages are available in English and German.

How it compares

Full comparison

CobbleSpawners is a server-side only Fabric mod under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and it is open source, covering 1.20.1 – 1.21.1. RadiantNotification is a client and server Fabric addon under All rights reserved and not open source, covering 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, so it needs installing on both sides where PokéPing does not.

What the author says

With the config (editable in the file or directly through ModMenu), you can easily choose which Pokémon trigger notifications. You can also enable Discord webhooks to be notified when you are afk, for example. Want to get notified when a rare starter Pokémon like Squirtle appears while you are exploring?
