Chunky guns

by AdaOfficial

Chunky guns adds firearms to Minecraft, with weapons players craft, load and fire during fights, built for Fabric 1.19.3.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.19.3

What it does

Guns are the main addition. Players craft them, use ammunition and fire at mobs or other players. Each weapon is shown with animated models, so the firing and reloading can be seen on screen. The mod is written for Minecraft 1.19.3 and Fabric only, with no Forge or NeoForge build listed.

Geckolib powers the animations and MidnightLib supplies shared code, so both have to be installed next to Chunky guns. Fabric API is required as well. The mod runs on client and server, meaning the server and every player need it for the weapons to work in multiplayer.

The project is open source under the MIT License, and its source code and issue tracker are public. The first file was published on 2023-10-24, and the latest Fabric file, 1.0.0 for 1.19.3, followed on 2023-11-07.

Key features

  1. Crafted firearms

Weapons are crafted from materials in the game and used like any other tool in a player's inventory.

  2. Ammunition system

Guns consume ammunition items when fired, so players must produce or gather bullets to keep shooting.

  3. Animated weapon models

Guns are drawn with Geckolib animations, which show the weapon moving while it fires and reloads.

  4. Combat against mobs

Firearms can be aimed and fired at hostile mobs and players, adding ranged combat to survival play.

Immersive Guns: crafts fix uses the MIT License and covers Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.20.1 with a server-required, client-optional setup.
