Chowl Industries
by Chowl
Chowl Industries adds drawer-based mass storage for Fabric, where a drawer frame holds panels that store large stacks of a single item type.
What it does
A drawer frame is set in the world first, and panels are then attached to any of its six faces to build the drawer. Five different panel types cover roles from storage and interaction point to a player interface, and a compression panel works with compressible materials such as iron and coal. Drawer upgrades add properties to a drawer when it holds certain items, and the Chowl Handbook book lists every upgrade and helps players get started with the mod's crafting.
Panels of the same type placed together share one combined capacity, and adding more panels raises that total without limit, so a drawer can grow to a theoretically infinite amount of space. For dark areas, adding glow squid ink makes the drawer's text glow so it can be read. Drawers can be protected from creeper explosions by adding obsidian or another blast-proof block, and cobblestone covers the basic frame needs.
Chowl Industries requires Fabric API, Lavender and oωo (owo-lib) to run. Client and server is its environment, so the server and every player need the mod. Files are published for Fabric only, for 1.20.1, and the mod is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only. Its latest file is 1.0.0+1.20, released 2024-07-18.
Key features
Mass item drawers
Enterprise-scale drawers hold large stacks of one item type, placed as a modular unit built from a frame and panels.
Panel types
Five panel types serve different purposes, from interaction points and a player interface to a compression panel for compressible materials.
Drawer upgrades
Upgrades add properties to drawers that hold certain items, and the Chowl Handbook lists the full set of upgrades.
Glowing text and blast protection
Glow squid ink lights the drawer's text in dark areas, and obsidian or another blast-proof block protects drawers from explosions.
Combined panel capacity
Crafting two, four or eight panels together yields one panel with the total capacity of the set, so storage can keep growing.
