AI Chat

by jacobxny

AI Chat is a Fabric chat mod that lets a player ask an AI model questions from inside the game and read the answers in the chat window.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License1.21 – 1.21.11

What it does

Once the mod is installed, a player types a question and gets a reply in seconds. AI Chat uses the Llama model from Meta, served through Groq's AI platform, so answers come from an external service rather than from the game itself. Players can use the mod to ask questions, look up information or work through math problems while they play.

The mod runs on the client alone, so only the player who installs it needs it, and a server does not have to run it. The jar is released under the MIT License and is not open source. Files are published for Fabric only, across 12 release versions, and 1.0.3+1.21.11 is the latest file for 1.21.11. Fabric API is required and must be installed next to AI Chat.

Key features

  1. Question and answer in chat

A player types a question in the chat and receives the model's answer as a reply, without leaving the game.

  2. Llama model through Groq

Answers are produced by Meta's Llama model, with Groq's AI platform providing the service behind it.

  3. Own API key

The mod works with a personal API key, which the player sets in the mod's settings section.

  4. Model choice

The settings section lets the player choose which model answers the questions.
