Chat Upgrade
by LoosePrince
Chat Upgrade renders images, audio, video and emojis directly inside the Minecraft chat message area, replacing media links with placeholders.
What it does
Chat Upgrade recognizes media payloads in incoming and outgoing chat and renders them inline: images, audio players and video players appear in the message area instead of as raw links. Emojis are supported through a token syntax, and bilibili, tv, gif-2 and owo.json mappings show square emoji images. Previews stay crisp at any interface scale because the mod uses supersampling and proper texture scaling.
Media is sent through one of several upload modes. In the default Auto mode, a server that supports uploads receives files directly; otherwise the mod falls back to a third-party host with a one-hour expiry. Server owners can force a routing mode through commands or the config, and can enable optional server-side storage. Clients that have the mod on a server fetch the bytes from the server through packets and render them locally. Fabric API is required, and the mod is released under the MIT License as open source, with source code and an issue tracker publicly linked.
