Chat Language Translate

by DCP

Chat Language Translate adds a translated line under each incoming chat message, so players on multilingual servers can read messages in their own language.

FabricClient-side onlyAll rights reserved1.21 – 1.21.11

What it does

Incoming chat messages are translated as they arrive, with the translated text shown in gray italics directly beneath the original line so the chat stays readable. Translation is handled through the Google Translate API, and the mod recognizes most source languages without any setup.

Players who prefer to decide case by case can switch to manual mode, where an interactive button is attached to each message and translation runs only when it is clicked. The button labels follow the primary language chosen in the settings, and a small indicator shows the target language code, such as TR or EN, before the next translation.

The mod is a Fabric library that supports Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese (zh-CN), Korean and Portuguese as target languages. It is client-side only: the server does not need it, and players can join a server without installing anything. Chat Language Translate requires Fabric API and is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. Files are published for 1.21 – 1.21.11, with the latest Fabric build, 1.21+ for 1.21.11, dated 2026-03-08.

Key features

  1. Real-time translation

Incoming chat messages are translated automatically as they appear in the chat window.

  2. Automatic and manual modes

A player can keep translation running for every message or click a button to translate only the lines they choose.

  3. Translated text below the original

The translation is placed under the source message in gray italics, leaving the original readable.

  4. Target language indicator

A short language code is displayed next to the translation button so the active target is always visible.

  5. Localized button labels

Chat buttons update to match the primary language selected by the player.
