ChalkPlus adds drawable chalk to Minecraft, so players can mark walls, floors and caves with glowing waxed chalk marks.
What it does
Colored chalk tools place regular glowing waxed chalk marks on blocks. Players combine basic chalk with vanilla dyes to build a palette of colored markers, which helps when a cave system becomes hard to read or when a route needs a note for later. Marks can carry a short message for friends on a multiplayer server, warn others about traps, or claim a territory without placing torches or dirt blocks.
ChalkPlus runs on the client and the server, so the server and every player need the mod. It requires Fabric API. The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source, with the source code and issue tracker public. Files target Fabric for 1.16.4 – 1.20.2, and the latest Fabric file is 1.0 for 1.20.2, published on 2026-05-18. The first version was published on 2026-05-08.
