Celestara
by Moth_SKW
Celestara changes the night sky of Minecraft by giving the vanilla sky more movement, variation and occasional shooting objects, comets and meteor showers.
What it does
The mod replaces the normal sky layer with one where points of light twinkle, change brightness and rotate slowly over time, so the night feels alive while keeping the vanilla look. Some bright points are supergiants: larger and more vibrant in color than their smaller counterparts. Each night gets a randomized intensity, from quiet to busy, with fewer or more moving objects across the sky.
Shooting objects are small and fast, crossing the sky with a trail behind them and appearing during the night without creating constant visual noise. Comets are a rarer event with longer, more colorful trails. Some comets follow a separate color pool and persist for several in-game days. Meteor showers bring many more shooting objects that share an origin and end point near the horizon. Comets do not appear during a meteor shower.
Celestara requires Butterfly API. It runs on Fabric for Minecraft 1.20.1 only, and the client needs it while the server may leave it out. The mod is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.0 license and is not open source; its source code is public.
