Carnation
Carnation drops a grave on death, a placed entity that holds the items and experience a player lost, and it can be picked up again to recover them.
What it does
When a player dies, Carnation places a grave at the death position and sends the coordinates to chat, so the location can be found again. The grave is a simple entity rather than a block, which the author kept light on the server, and it glows so it is easier to spot in the dark. Picking it up returns the stored items to the player.
The amount of experience kept in a grave is set by xpSavingPercentage, which defaults to 50 percent. The saveXp option turns experience saving on or off. Carnation runs on Fabric and needs Fabric API. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. It is released under CC0 1.0 Universal and is open source, with the source code public. Files target 1.20.1 only.
Key features
Grave entities
Graves are placed as simple entities, a choice that keeps server load low when many players die.
Coordinates in chat
Each death sends the grave position to chat, so a player can walk back to the right spot.
Glowing graves
Graves glow, which makes them easier to see at night and in dark caves.
Configurable experience saving
The share of experience saved in a grave is set by xpSavingPercentage, with 50 percent as the default, and saveXp can switch saving off.

Use cases
Survival deaths
A player who dies far from base can use the chat coordinates and the glow to recover their items without searching the area.
Multiplayer servers
Server owners can adjust the experience share, so the penalty of dying matches the rules of the server.
Who it’s for: Players and server owners on Fabric 1.20.1 who want recoverable items on death without the visual clutter of block-based grave mods.
How it compares
Tils Graves, Graves, Just Graves, Forgotten Graves and Polygraves are other grave mods.
