Capetain lets a player pick a custom cape for their character, and the cape shows to other players who have the mod installed.
What it does
Capetain is a client-side cape mod for Fabric. A player chooses a cape from an online selection, and the cape is visible to everyone who has the mod installed. Capes are managed through a simple web interface, so the player does not need to edit any files to change the look.
The mod needs no changes on the server, so a server does not have to install anything for a player's cape to appear to other mod users. Fabric API is required. The mod is published for Fabric across 12 release versions, and is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial No Derivatives 4.0 license, which is not open source.
Installation follows the usual Fabric steps: install the Fabric Loader and Fabric API for the chosen Minecraft version, then place the Capetain jar in the mods folder of the Minecraft directory. The latest Fabric file is 1.0+mc-1.21.5 for 1.21.5, marked as an alpha build and dated 2025-05-17.
