Canadian Content
by xen-42
Canadian Content adds beavers, moose and a maple forest biome to Minecraft, along with a cooking pot and maple-based recipes for dishes such as poutine, donair and pierogi.
What it does
Beavers and moose are new mobs with their own behaviours. Beavers chop and cook food, and the moose can be tamed, saddled and ridden in the water as well as on land. Moose shed antlers from time to time, which can hurt a nearby player, and drop leather, venison and a head when they die.
The mod adds a maple forest biome filled with maple trees and a new red-tinted wood type. Tapping those trees yields maple sap, which can be cooked into maple syrup and used in new dishes. The cooking pot is crafted with a cauldron and a furnace, and it lets players make a number of base game items through alternate recipes. Flour, rubber and a bundle that stacks consumables are part of the same set of additions.
Canadian Content is published for Fabric only, for Minecraft 1.21.5. Its server and client both need the mod, and it depends on Fabric API and TerraBlender. The project is released under the MIT License, and its source code is public.
Key features
Beaver and moose mobs
Beavers carry out cooking and tree tapping, while moose have their own tameable behaviour and drop unique items.
Maple forest biome
A cold forested biome spawns maple trees and a red-tinted wood type, and cartographers can sell a map that leads to a cabin.
Cooking pot recipes
The cooking pot turns maple sap, flour and other ingredients into soups and Canadian dishes, some with fewer ingredients than the base game.
Maple syrup and rubber
Cooked sap becomes maple syrup, and sap with fermented spider eyes makes rubber balls and blocks that bounce without piston interactions.
Wearable beaver and moose gear
Beaver pelt and moose antler hats change the chopping speed and base health while worn.
