Bundle Scroll
by boyonk
Bundle Scroll changes how a bundle is used in the inventory, letting players cycle its contents and pick up items with the scroll wheel instead of clicks.
What it does
Hovering the mouse over a bundle and scrolling moves through the items stored inside it, so a chosen item can be selected without opening the bundle in a separate step. Grabbing an item still works the usual way, by right-clicking the bundle. The mod is built on Fabric API, which must be installed next to it on Fabric 1.20.4 – 1.21.1.
Bundle Scroll is listed for Fabric only and covers five release versions, 1.20.4 – 1.21.1, with 1.1+1.21 for 1.21.1 as the latest file, dated 2024-06-13. The mod can run on a client or a server, and it is not required on both sides. A server that runs it lets vanilla clients connect without installing it, and the creative inventory still offers the feature on a client even when the server does not run the mod. The code is All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.
One other catalog mod, BestBundleBundleScrollCompat, requires Bundle Scroll, so it is the companion to install when that integration is wanted.
Key features
Scroll through bundle contents
Scrolling the wheel over a bundle cycles through the items stored inside it, so the chosen item is quick to reach.
Select by hovering
Selection follows the mouse position over the bundle, with scrolling moving up and down the list of contents.
Usual right-click pickup
Taking an item out still uses a right-click on the bundle, so the familiar vanilla action is unchanged.
Creative inventory on clients
The feature is usable in the creative inventory on a client even when the connected server does not run the mod.

How it compares
Bundle Tweaks is an open source Fabric mod under the MIT License, published for 1.19 – 1.20.1 with a client and server environment, so it covers an earlier range than Bundle Scroll. Tool Bundles is also open source under the Apache License 2.0, for 1.21.1 – 26.1.2, and shares the client and server environment. Leather Bundle Recipe is server-side only, under the MIT License, and works only for 1.21.1.
