BTA Spawn Eggs

by UselessBullets

BTA Spawn Eggs brings spawn eggs from modern Minecraft to the b1.7.3 version of Better Than Adventure, letting players create mobs from items.

BTA BabricClient and serverCC0 1.0 UniversalOpen sourceb1.7.3

What it does

Each spawn egg creates a mob when used. The mod adds 19 spawn eggs, and most of them behave close to the matching eggs in modern Minecraft. Applying an egg to a monster spawner changes the spawner so it produces that mob. Players can pick a block entity with the middle mouse button to receive its egg in creative mode.

The mod is a backport written for BTA Babric on Minecraft b1.7.3, built on a heavily modified copy of Better Than Adventure. It needs HalpLibe and PrismaticLibe installed alongside it. Both sides must run it: the environment is client and server, so every player and the server need the mod. Source code and the issue tracker are public, and the code is released under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, making it open source. Snapshot builds are also published.

Key features

  1. Nineteen spawn eggs

The mod adds 19 spawn eggs for mobs taken from the b1.7.3 version of the game and its add-ons.

  2. Spawner setting

Using an egg on a monster spawner changes the spawner so it creates the mob shown on the egg.

  3. Middle-click picking

Middle-clicking a block entity gives the player its matching egg in creative mode.

  4. Mobs with added types

Zombie Pigman, Armored Zombie and a player-like mob are among the spawnable creatures.

Use cases

Mob building on a server

Server owners can place spawners and give players eggs, so a world can hold custom mob setups. Both sides need the mod to keep the eggs and spawners in sync.

Who it’s for: Players and server owners on b1.7.3 who want modern-style spawn eggs for building and creature setups.
